Klimafakten.de - Leveraging Skeptical Science content

To coincide with the Climate Talks in Durban, South Africa (COP17) a new website has been launched in Germany on November 28: klimafakten.de.

Some content of the new website is based on Skeptical Science and the translation and editing was made possible through a grant from the European Climate Foundation (ECF) . The website's quality is ensured with the help of a scientific advisory board which includes climate scientists from Germany and Switzerland like Prof. Dr. Peter Lemke, Alfred-Wegener-Institute for Polar- and  Marine Research, Bremerhaven and Prof. Dr. Stefan Rahmstorf, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research to name just two. The complete list of board members has been posted on the website.

Klimafakten.de currently features 18 arguments but this number will increase as time and resources allow. While klimafakten.de is basing some of its explanations on SkepticalScience content we'll in turn leverage these professional German texts to improve the German content on SkS by referencing the relevant pages on klimafakten.de in our German translations - some of which are basically stubs at the moment and will therefore be vastly improved.

Updates to the content on klimafakten.de suggested by the scientific advisory board, can also be used as input to keep original SkS-content current. This new partnership is therefore a win-win for all concerned!
