Czy ludzkie emisje CO2 są niewielkie w porówaniu z naturalnymi?

Co mówi nauka...

CO2 emitowany w przyrodzie (z oceanów i roślinności) równoważy naturalne pochłanianie (także przez oceany i roślinność). Tak więc ludzkie emisje zakłócają naturalną równowagę, podnosząc poziom CO2 do wielkości niespotykanej od przynajmniej 800 000 lat. W rzeczywistości ludzie emitują 26 Gt w ciągu roku, a ilość w atmosferze rośnie tylko o 15 Gt na rok - duża część ludzkich emisji jest pochłaniana przez naturę.

Antropogeniczny CO2 to niewielki procent emisji
"Oceany zawierają 37400 miliardów ton (Gt) węgla, biomasa lądowa 2000-3000 Gt. Atmosfera zawiera 720 miliardów ton CO2, a ludzie dostarczają tylko 6 Gt. Oceany, lądy i atmosfera ciągle wymieniają CO2, więc dodatkowy wkład człowieka jest niesłychanie mały. Mała zmiana w równowadze między oceanami i powietrzem spowodowałaby dużo poważniejszy wzrost niż wszystko, co my możemy zrobić" (Jeff Id)
