CLAM Bake!

Climate Learning and Modeling Development Environment

CLAM Bake is a complete Python programming environment that allows you to code and run simple climate computer programs.

Getting Started

Use the buttons to toggle between this page, the code editor, the console output, the interaction window and the graphics canvas.

Introduction to CLAM Bake

This development environment provides access to:

Editor — A place to enter Python programs.
Console — A place to view the output of programs.
Canvas — A place where graphics can be drawn.
Library — A place where multiple programs can be save or loaded.

Credits and Thanks

The core of CLAM Bake is Skulpt, the Python to Javascript translator developed by Scott Graham.

The editor, CodeMirror, was developed by Marijn Haverbeke.

Python itself is a robust high-level programming language created by its Benevolent Dictator for Life, Guido van Rossum.

Haydn Washington talks Climate Change Denial on Steaming Toad

My co-author Haydn Washington recorded an interview with Steaming Toad over the last week. I'm a big fan of the Steaming Toad who cover climate change issues with great wit and humour. Haydn was in good form also - I particularly like his "dabbling in rationality" and the subtle way he picks up and brandishes the book towards the end of the interview (the guy's obviously a seasoned hand at this kind of thing).

And more of the world needs to be introduced to the 'focused' skill of H.G. Aahhg. If only his old partner RR Slavin had been there as well. To those from outside OZ, that is Rampaging Roy Slavin.

Roy & HG has always been a name to conjure with.
